Resource Profile: Interpret: China

Interpret: China, a project of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), seeks to transform how policymakers, companies, researchers, journalists, and the broader public understand China, by providing noncommercial, educational access to translated articles, speeches, policy documents, and other important materials. Through direct engagement with the translated documents, experts in strategically important topics are able to conduct better informed, more nuanced analyses. The project was established in 2022 with support from the Ford Foundation and the Carnegie Corporation of New York.

For instance the library has a 2017 speech by Chen Quanguo, then Xinjiang Party Secretary. He made the speech to senior officials in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region right after the completion of the 19th Party Congress. Interpret: China has both the original speech in Chinese and the English translation. The original and translation are viewable side-by-side.
