Uyghur organizations and supporters expressed concern that the the proposed EU ban on forced labor is inadequate and does not adequately address state-imposed forced labor such as that occurring in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (Uyghur Region). They called on The European Parliament and Council to introduce amendments to strengthen the European Commission’s proposal to enact a ban on goods made with forced labor.
