June 2, 2022. The US Department of State submits this annual report to the Congress in compliance with section 102(b) of the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998. The report covers the period between January 1 and December 31, 2021.China continues to be designated as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) under the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 for having engaged in or tolerated particularly severe violations of religious freedom.
