Kelsang D. Aukatsang, President of the Asia Freedom Institute, visited Mongolia from September 23 to October 2, 2022. During his nine-day visit, Mr. Aukatsang met with former heads of state, scholars, deans and heads of Universities, young parliamentarians and next generation of Mongolian leaders, businessmen, monks, head of the Mongolian Buddhist community, and regular Mongolians. He shared the work of the Asia Freedom Institute, spoke about democracy and religious freedom issues, and the close historical and cultural ties between the Mongolian and Tibetan people. In addition to Ulanbataar, he also visited the Erdene Zuu Monastery, a World Heritage site located near the ancient capital city of Karakorum.
